How can I spot a genuine Vicks Vaporub jar from a refilled copy?
Authentic imported Vicks Vaporub arrives in a sealed jar with a tamper-evident band under the lid that must be intact and unbroken. The label should be crisp, perfectly centered, and printed with sharp colors—any blurring, peeling edges, or misaligned text signals a relabelled container. Check the jar base for the manufacturer's name, batch code, and country of origin clearly embossed; counterfeits often have shallow or missing markings.
What is the correct way to apply this balm and how often should I use it?
Apply a small amount to your chest, throat, or other affected areas as directed on the package label, using only what your fingertip can hold. Most users find once or twice daily sufficient, though you should follow the instructions printed on your specific jar for guidance. Start with minimal quantity since a little goes far, and never ingest the product or apply it to broken skin.
What should a first-time user expect from this topical relief balm?
You will notice a strong familiar menthol aroma immediately upon opening and applying the balm to your skin. The texture is thick and waxy, warming slightly as you rub it in, and the cooling sensation typically develops within minutes of application. One jar typically lasts several weeks for a household when used sparingly, making it economical for cold season support.
