What Is the ELAF Digital Safety Locker FT-L1000?
The ELAF Digital Safety Locker (FT-L1000) in black is a secure storage cabinet designed to protect your valuables, documents, and personal items at home or in a small office. This is a solid, heavy-duty unit imported directly from China through Furnitex, a trusted supplier in Bangladesh. Unlike cheaper imitations that may flood the market, the genuine ELAF locker is built with reinforced steel construction and a reliable digital locking mechanism. When you invest in a safety locker of this caliber, you are choosing peace of mind over the anxiety of wondering whether your important possessions are truly protected.
Safety lockers serve a practical purpose in Bangladeshi homes where space is often shared and privacy concerns are real. Whether you need to store cash, jewelry, important certificates, passports, or sensitive paperwork, a proper digital locker keeps these items away from casual access and potential theft. The FT-L1000 model offers enough internal space for a family's essential valuables without taking up excessive floor area. Many customers in Dhaka and other major cities choose this model because it balances capacity with a compact footprint suitable for bedrooms, home offices, or living areas.
How to Identify a Genuine ELAF FT-L1000 from a Counterfeit
When purchasing any imported security product online in Bangladesh, counterfeit versions are unfortunately common. Before making your purchase, you should know exactly what marks and features indicate authenticity. The genuine ELAF Digital Safety Locker FT-L1000 arrives with official Furnitex packaging that clearly displays the ELAF brand logo, the model number FT-L1000, and manufacturing information in both English and Chinese characters. The box itself should feel substantial and professional—not flimsy or poorly printed. Inside, you will find a user manual in English, a set of keys, batteries, and a warranty card bearing Furnitex's Bangladesh contact information.
On the locker itself, look for a nameplate on the front or side that reads "ELAF" and "FT-L1000" in clear, deep lettering—not stickers that peel easily. The digital keypad should feel responsive and solid; counterfeit models often have mushy buttons that stick or fail after a few months. The body of the locker should be heavy when you lift it (it contains steel), not lightweight plastic. The locking bolts, when you look inside, should be thick metal rods, not thin wires. If you purchase from ShampooBD, we work exclusively with Furnitex, the authorized importer, so you receive the genuine article with full accountability for quality and after-sales support.
Setting Up and Using Your Digital Safety Locker Correctly
Proper setup is crucial for your safety locker to function reliably for years. When you first receive the ELAF FT-L1000, remove it from its packaging carefully and place it on a firm, level surface—ideally against a wall or in a corner where it cannot tip. Install fresh batteries in the digital keypad (the manual will specify the type and quantity required). Before you lock away any valuables, test the digital lock mechanism at least five times with a temporary PIN code to ensure it opens and closes smoothly. This helps you understand how the keypad responds and confirms that the mechanism is working properly before you depend on it with your valuable items.
When you set your PIN code, choose a number that is easy for you to remember but not obvious to others—avoid birthdates, sequential numbers like 1234, or your phone number. Write down your PIN in a safe place separate from the locker (perhaps a notebook stored elsewhere in your home, or in a secure digital note). The locking mechanism works electronically, so if the batteries run low, the keypad will usually give you a warning signal. Check batteries every few months, especially if you open the locker frequently. Never force the door open if it does not unlock on the first attempt; this can damage the mechanism. Instead, remove and reinstall the batteries, wait a moment, and try again. If the locker still will not respond, contact Furnitex's customer service in Bangladesh for guidance.
Understanding the Physical Build and Storage Capacity
The FT-L1000 is constructed from cold-rolled steel, a material commonly used in security furniture because of its resistance to impact and cutting. The walls are thick enough to resist prying and drilling attempts, though no consumer locker is completely burglarproof against a determined and equipped thief. The interior space is approximately (dimensions should be verified from the product specifications, as exact measurements determine what fits inside) and is divided into a single main compartment. This layout is simple and practical—you are not paying for unnecessary internal complexity, which can fail. The black finish gives it a professional appearance that blends into most home or office décor without standing out as an obvious target.
Before you purchase, think about what you intend to store and whether the FT-L1000's dimensions match your needs. If you plan to store larger items like family passports, legal documents, jewelry boxes, or stacks of cash, visit a showroom if possible, or carefully review the dimension specifications on this page. The locker's weight (again, specific weight should be confirmed from specs) means it is portable enough to be installed by two people but heavy enough that casual theft by simply carrying it away is impractical. Many customers place theirs in a bedroom closet or under a desk, where it is hidden from plain view yet accessible when needed.
Maintenance, Warranty, and When to Seek Help
The ELAF Digital Safety Locker FT-L1000 requires minimal maintenance if used properly. Occasionally wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Do not expose the locker to excessive moisture, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or extreme temperature fluctuations, as these can affect the electronic components and the steel finish. If you notice any rust spots forming (which is rare with quality cold-rolled steel but possible if the locker is exposed to humidity), gently clean the area and apply a light coat of oil to prevent spread. The digital keypad should be protected from water and heavy impact; if liquid spills on it, allow it to dry completely before using it again.
Your ELAF FT-L1000 comes with a warranty provided by Furnitex, the authorized importer. The specific terms—duration, coverage of defects, and exclusions—should be confirmed on your warranty card when you receive it. If the digital lock fails to function within the warranty period, or if the door does not open smoothly due to a manufacturing fault, contact Furnitex with your proof of purchase. Do not attempt to disassemble the locker or the digital mechanism yourself, as this will void the warranty. For questions about your locker or technical support, reach out to Furnitex's customer service team in Bangladesh; they can guide you through troubleshooting or arrange repairs or replacement if necessary. Keeping your warranty card and receipt safe is just as important as keeping your valuables safe in the locker.
