Cow & Gate Stage 3 Formula for Toddlers in Bangladesh
Cow & Gate Stage 3 (Growing-Up Milk, 1-2 years) is a trusted formula for Bangladeshi toddlers who are transitioning from infant formula to family foods. This complete guide covers everything parents need to know.
What Is Cow & Gate Stage 3?
Cow & Gate Stage 3 is a growing-up formula for toddlers aged 1 to 2 years. Made by Nutricia (Danone) in the UK, it bridges the gap between infant formula and regular cow's milk, providing enhanced levels of iron, Vitamin D, and Omega-3 DHA that toddlers need for healthy development.
Why Toddlers Need Growing-Up Milk
- Iron gap: Regular cow's milk has very little iron. Toddlers need 8mg iron per day; Cow & Gate Stage 3 provides 1.7mg per 100ml
- Vitamin D: Critical for calcium absorption; toddlers in Bangladesh rarely get enough sun exposure for adequate natural Vitamin D
- DHA: Brain development continues rapidly through age 2-3
- Convenience: When toddlers are fussy eaters, growing-up milk ensures baseline nutrition

Is Cow & Gate Stage 3 Better Than Regular Milk for Toddlers?
For Bangladeshi toddlers who may have limited dietary variety, Cow & Gate Stage 3 is significantly better than regular cow's milk due to its iron, Vitamin D, and DHA content. For toddlers eating a truly varied, balanced diet with eggs, fish, vegetables and legumes, regular cow's milk may be sufficient after age 1. Consult your paediatrician for personalised advice.
