How do I spot a genuine imported tin versus a refilled pack?
Genuine PediaSure tins from the manufacturer arrive with an intact factory seal and crisp, clear printing on the label with no smudging or fading. Check the batch code embossed on the base—it should be sharp and perfectly aligned, not handwritten or sticker-covered. Refilled or relabelled packs often show loose seals, worn labels, or batch codes that don't match the tin's production quality, so inspect these details before opening.
What's the right way to prepare this powder and how often should my child have it?
Always mix fresh portions with clean water or milk following the instructions on your tin, preparing only what your child will consume at that meal. Most families use this daily as part of their feeding routine, but your health worker can advise the right amount and frequency for your child's age and needs. Store any unmixed powder in a sealed, dry cupboard away from steam and humidity between uses.
What should a parent expect when starting with this product for the first time?
Your child may need a few days to adjust to the taste and texture, so introduce it gradually alongside familiar foods rather than all at once. One large tin typically lasts several weeks depending on daily servings, giving your household consistent nutrition without frequent repurchases. Always follow your doctor's or health worker's guidance on suitability and portion size for your child's age and development stage.
