How can you tell if your imported FT-J161B chair is genuine Furnitex stock and not a refilled or relabelled unit?
When your Multiple Uses Hydraulic Chair arrives from ShampooBD, the first step is to verify you have received genuine imported merchandise directly from Furnitex rather than a repackaged or locally refurbished alternative that may be wearing the original brand name. Examine the outer shipping box for signs of rough handling, tape that appears to have been removed and reapplied, or printing that looks faded or misaligned compared to what you would expect from a major Chinese manufacturer's quality control standards. The inner carton should bear clear Furnitex branding with consistent font weight, proper spelling of the model number FT-J161B, and a batch code or production date printed directly onto the cardboard rather than applied as a sticker that could easily be transferred between boxes.
Open the chair itself and inspect the metal frame joints, welds, and the hydraulic cylinder for any signs of previous assembly or disassembly, such as scratch marks around bolts, mismatched screw heads, or hydraulic fluid residue that would indicate the mechanism had been used before factory sealing. Genuine imported stock will show consistent manufacturing marks and no evidence of local repair or remanufacturing, whereas refilled or relabelled units often carry tell-tale scratches, different paint finishes on various frame components, or upholstery that appears to have been removed and reattached. The gray fabric covering should be factory-uniform in color and texture across the entire seat and backrest with no visible patching, discoloration, or seams that appear to have been hand-stitched rather than machine-finished.
What is the correct way to use this chair, and how often should you adjust it during your workday?
The FT-J161B hydraulic chair is designed for continuous daily office use in settings where you will remain seated for extended periods, and you should adjust the seat height using the lever mechanism located beneath the seat pan whenever you change position or move to a different workstation throughout your day. Begin by sitting firmly in the chair with your back against the backrest, then locate the hydraulic adjustment lever on the underside of the seat, and pull it upward while using your leg or body weight to raise or lower yourself to your desired height, which typically takes between three to five seconds and requires no tools, no pumping motion, and no complex hand coordination.
Throughout your workday, you should reposition your seat height whenever you transition between different desk heights, whenever you feel pressure building in your legs or lower back from remaining at a fixed elevation, or whenever you are moving to a different work area where the desk surface may sit at a different level than where you were previously seated. The hydraulic mechanism is designed to hold your chosen height without slipping or gradual descent during normal office activity, though you may notice the chair settling slightly during the first few weeks of use as the hydraulic fluid and seals reach their optimal operating temperature and consistency, which is a normal characteristic of this type of lifting system and does not indicate a defect.
What should a first-time user of a hydraulic office chair expect during the initial weeks of ownership?
When you first sit in your new FT-J161B chair, you will notice that the seat height adjustment lever responds with moderate resistance rather than feeling loose or overly stiff, and you should expect this mechanical feel to remain consistent throughout the chair's working life without becoming noticeably easier or harder to operate. The gray upholstery may initially feel slightly firm compared to a very old or worn-in chair, but within one to two weeks of regular use, the fabric will relax slightly and conform more naturally to the contours of your body, which is a normal part of the break-in process for synthetic polyester materials and does not represent any degradation of the covering.
Your feet and lower legs may experience a mild adjustment period as you adapt to the height and angle of the seat pan relative to your desk and keyboard setup, particularly if you are transitioning from a different style of office seating, and during this time you should feel empowered to make frequent height adjustments to find the position that allows your elbows to rest at approximately ninety degrees when your hands are on the keyboard and your feet to rest flat on the floor or a footrest. The wheels may produce a slight rolling sound as they move across hard flooring or tile surfaces, which is normal and does not indicate any manufacturing issue, though over time you may notice the casters accumulating fine dust or carpet fibers, which you can easily remove by wiping them with a dry cloth to maintain smooth mobility.
How does the gray color and material composition of this chair perform under typical office conditions?
The FT-J161B features a gray polyester upholstery covering paired with a structural metal frame, and this color choice provides genuine practical benefits in a workplace setting where you need your chair to maintain an appearance of cleanliness and professionalism despite daily contact with skin oils, dust, and minor abrasions that are inherent to any frequently used office furniture. Gray fabric conceals surface dust and light wear substantially better than white, cream, or pale tan alternatives, and it harmonizes naturally with most contemporary office color schemes without drawing visual attention to itself or appearing worn as quickly as lighter shades would after several months of regular use.
The polyester material itself resists staining from common office beverages and food items more effectively than natural cotton or wool would, and while you should still address spills promptly by blotting with a clean cloth, you will find that the synthetic fibers do not absorb liquids as readily and therefore recover more completely once dried, though you should avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive scrubbing that could damage the fabric surface or cause discoloration. The metal frame components are finished with a protective coating that prevents rust and corrosion in normal indoor office environments, though you should keep the chair away from windows where direct rainfall or high humidity might eventually affect the metal over many years of exposure.
What assembly process should you follow when the chair arrives at your location?
Your FT-J161B will arrive as a mostly assembled unit that requires only minimal component attachment, and the process typically involves securing the four rolling casters into the pre-drilled holes on the base feet using only your hands or a simple rubber mallet if the fit is very snug, a task that takes less than fifteen minutes and requires no power tools, no special knowledge, and no technical expertise beyond basic mechanical assembly. You should begin by placing the chair frame upside down on a clean, soft surface such as a blanket or thick towel to prevent scratching the gray upholstery, then align each caster wheel with its corresponding socket hole and press or gently tap it into place until it seats completely and refuses to move when pulled with moderate force, confirming that the wheel spins freely once installation is complete.
Once all four casters are secured and the chair can stand upright on all wheels without rocking, you should sit in the chair to test the hydraulic adjustment lever and verify that height changes occur smoothly without grinding sounds, sticking, or abrupt dropping, which confirms that no components were damaged during shipping and that the mechanism is functioning as intended. If you experience any resistance or unusual sounds, do not force the mechanism, as this may indicate a shipping-related issue that should be addressed through ShampooBD's customer support process before continued use, though most units arrive fully functional and ready for immediate deployment in your office setting.
Which work environments and user profiles are best suited for the FT-J161B model?
This hydraulic chair performs optimally in office settings where individual workers sit at computer workstations, reception desks, or small meeting tables for several hours per day, and it provides appropriate support and durability for general office workers, administrative staff, customer service representatives, and home-based professionals who require a functional seating solution without the premium cost of specialized ergonomic or executive models. The chair's straightforward design and moderate height adjustability range make it particularly well-suited for workspace environments where multiple people of varying heights may use the same chair at different times, such as shared office spaces or hot-desking arrangements where personnel rotate through workstations throughout the day.
The FT-J161B is not designed for environments where extreme heat, moisture, or corrosive chemicals are present, such as industrial workshops, outdoor storage areas, or laboratories, as the metal components may degrade more rapidly under these demanding conditions and the upholstery may absorb or be damaged by exposure to harsh substances. Additionally, if you require specialized support for existing medical conditions, chronic pain, or postural concerns, you should consult with a healthcare provider or ergonomics specialist before purchasing, as this model provides standard general-purpose office seating rather than therapeutic or corrective positioning features, and individual physical needs may require a different style of chair with specialized support mechanisms.
