ELAF DIGITAL SAFETY LOCKER (FT-L1200) Black costs ৳150,696 in Bangladesh. It is in stock and ships cash on delivery nationwide from Shampoo BD. It was previously ৳167,440.
How can you spot a genuine imported ELAF locker instead of a refilled or relabelled unit?
When your ELAF Digital Safety Locker arrives from our supplier Furnitex, examine the outer packaging carefully before opening anything, because counterfeit or locally repackaged versions often show signs of hasty handling or mismatched labelling that a genuine Chinese import will not display. The authentic FT-L1200 comes in factory-sealed packaging with consistent printing quality, clear product codes stamped into the material itself rather than printed on stickers, and packaging tape that bears manufacturer markings rather than generic tape applied later. Inside the box, you will find the locker with its original protective wrapping intact, instruction manuals printed in multiple languages including English and Bengali, and all accessories like the digital keypad, batteries, and installation brackets still in their sealed pouches.
Check the serial number on the unit's nameplate against the code printed on your receipt and packaging, because legitimate imports always match these details across all documents and the physical product itself. The steel body should show consistent black finish without rust spots, scratches that look deliberate, or areas where paint has been stripped and reapplied, which are common signs that someone has tried to disguise a returned or damaged locker. If anything feels rushed or cheap about the packaging quality, the printing clarity, or how components fit together, contact us immediately because those details separate genuine ELAF products from counterfeit alternatives flooding Bangladesh's market.
What is the correct way to set up and use this digital locker in your home?
Your first task after unboxing the ELAF FT-L1200 is to choose a stable location away from moisture, direct sunlight, and areas where family members might accidentally bump into it repeatedly, because these conditions affect the electronic lock's long-term reliability and the steel body's appearance. Install the unit on a level surface or use the wall-mounting hardware included in your package if you prefer it secured to a bedroom wall or office cupboard, ensuring the digital keypad faces a comfortable height where you can enter your PIN without straining. Insert the four AA batteries into the compartment behind the keypad, then follow the instruction manual to set your personal access code, which should be a number only you and trusted family members know.
Once your code is set, test opening and closing the locker several times to confirm the electronic mechanism responds smoothly and the door seal fits properly, because any stiffness or unusual sounds suggest an installation problem you should address before trusting the locker with valuables. Arrange your documents, jewellery, and important items inside using the internal compartments to keep things organized and prevent moisture buildup by ensuring items do not block ventilation holes. The manual override keyhole exists only for emergencies when batteries fail, so do not use it during normal operation and keep that small key somewhere separate and secure.
How often should you check or maintain this locker after your first month of use?
A well-maintained ELAF locker requires minimal attention beyond checking that the digital keypad responds consistently each time you enter your code, which typically takes just a few seconds during your regular daily access routine. Every month, test the manual override keyhole by gently inserting the provided key to ensure moisture has not caused it to stiffen, but do not force it and return it to your secure storage spot immediately afterward. Battery life in normal household use lasts between twelve and eighteen months, so mark your calendar to replace the four AA batteries halfway through the year even if the locker opens without hesitation, because preventive replacement stops you from facing a dead lock when you need access urgently.
Wipe the black steel exterior with a dry cloth monthly to prevent dust accumulation and maintain its appearance, and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers that could damage the finish or leave marks. If you notice any rust spots developing despite your home's normal humidity levels, apply a thin coating of light machine oil to those areas and wipe away excess immediately, then increase ventilation around the locker by ensuring air can circulate freely behind and beside it. Should the digital keypad ever fail to respond or the door begin to stick, stop using it and contact our customer service team rather than attempting repairs yourself, because internal mechanisms are delicate and improper fixes can compromise security.
What should a first-time locker owner expect during their first weeks of ownership?
Your initial experience with the ELAF Digital Safety Locker will probably involve a learning period where entering your PIN becomes habitual and you decide which items deserve the security of the locked compartments versus your everyday accessible storage spaces at home. Many new owners spend the first week adjusting to the subtle sounds the electronic mechanism makes when unlocking and locking, which are normal operational noises that simply indicate the solenoid is engaging and disengaging as designed. You may find yourself opening the locker more frequently during the first month just to confirm everything inside remains safe, which is natural behaviour that gradually settles into a routine where you access it only when genuinely needed.
First-time users often appreciate discovering how much mental burden lifts when important documents, heirlooms, and valuables have a dedicated secure location rather than scattered throughout drawers and cupboards where worry about loss or theft becomes a daily background stress. The digital access system may feel unfamiliar compared to mechanical locks you have used before, but most people find the keypad method becomes intuitive within days of regular use. Do not be concerned if you occasionally misremember your newly set PIN during the first week while your memory adjusts, because you can reset the code following your instruction manual's procedure, though this should become unnecessary once the number becomes automatic to you.
Are there situations where an ELAF locker might not be suitable for your household needs?
This digital safety locker functions best for homes where at least one household member feels comfortable with simple electronic keypad entry and basic battery maintenance, because families lacking experience with digital systems may find the setup process more complex than traditional mechanical alternatives. If your home experiences frequent power fluctuations or has unpredictable electricity supply that might degrade battery life unpredictably, you should consider whether the manual override system provides sufficient backup security for your comfort level. Households with very young children who might attempt to tamper with the keypad or who cannot be trusted to keep access codes confidential may need to position the locker in a space children genuinely cannot reach unsupervised, which requires honest assessment of your home's layout.
The FT-L1200 requires a reasonably stable placement surface and cannot be frequently moved between rooms, so renters or families who relocate often should verify that installation is practical for their situation before purchasing. If your primary need involves storing items that require climate-controlled humidity or temperature ranges beyond a normal bedroom environment, a digital locker provides security but not environmental protection, and you may need additional solutions for those specific items. Homes experiencing severe moisture issues or regular water exposure may find the manual keyhole becomes problematic over years, so assess whether your property's ventilation and weather protection are adequate before installing this unit.
