ELAF DIGITAL SAFETY LOCKER (FT-H245) costs ৳48,214 in Bangladesh. It is in stock and ships cash on delivery nationwide from Shampoo BD.
How can you spot a genuine imported ELAF locker rather than a refilled or relabelled unit?
When your ELAF FT-H245 arrives from our supplier Furnitex, the outer box should show crisp printing with no fading, smudging, or uneven ink application that would suggest the packaging has been reprinted or altered after original manufacturing. Open the box carefully and inspect the locker's metal casing for its original factory finish, uniform colour, and absence of scratch marks or signs that the unit has been previously opened or tampered with before reaching you. The digital keypad should have evenly spaced buttons with consistent labelling, and any factory seals or tamper-evident stickers must be intact and positioned exactly where the manual diagram shows they should be located.
Check that the model number FT-H245 is engraved or printed consistently on both the unit itself and the box, because counterfeit repackaging often shows slight variations in font size or positioning between different surfaces. The battery compartment cover should fit snugly without gaps, and the internal metal construction should feel solid with no rattling or loose components when you gently shake the unit from side to side. Request the original invoice from Furnitex showing the import date and batch code, as this documentation helps verify that your locker came through legitimate supply channels and has not been recycled from another buyer or refurbished without disclosure.
What is the correct way to set up and use this digital locker for the first time?
Begin by reading the complete user manual that arrives with your unit, paying particular attention to the sections on battery installation and initial code programming, as these steps establish whether your locker will function reliably going forward. Install fresh batteries of the type specified in the manual into the battery compartment, ensuring the positive and negative terminals align correctly with the marked indicators inside the compartment, then close and secure the cover until you hear a soft click indicating proper seating.
Once batteries are installed, the keypad should illuminate or show a display prompting you to enter a master code, which you should choose as a sequence of digits that you can remember but that others cannot easily guess by observing your hands or hearing the beeps. After setting your master code, test the lock mechanism multiple times by entering your code and listening for the electronic click that signals the bolt has retracted, allowing you to pull open the locker door freely. Store your chosen code in a secure location separate from the locker itself, such as written in a private notebook kept in your home, so that you retain access even if you temporarily forget the sequence.
How often should you check and maintain your ELAF locker to keep it working reliably?
Inspect your locker's exterior once every two weeks for any signs of moisture accumulation, dust buildup around the keypad area, or corrosion on the metal surfaces, wiping away any debris with a soft dry cloth to prevent internal components from becoming compromised. Test the locking and unlocking function at least weekly by entering your code and confirming that the bolt retracts smoothly without grinding sounds or resistance, as these changes can signal that battery power is declining or that the mechanism requires attention.
Battery replacement becomes necessary when the keypad display dims noticeably, when beeping sounds become quieter during code entry, or when the lock takes longer to respond to your commands, so keep spare batteries of the correct type on hand so you can perform replacement immediately. Check the battery compartment contacts every three months to ensure they are clean and free from corrosion by gently rubbing them with a dry cotton swab, which prevents electrical resistance from draining battery life prematurely and keeps the circuit functioning at full capacity.
What should you expect to experience as a first-time user of a digital safety locker?
Your first interaction with the ELAF FT-H245 may feel unfamiliar if you have previously used only padlocks or key-operated lockers, because digital entry requires you to press a sequence of buttons rather than turning a physical key, and this slightly different motion takes only a few days of practice to become second nature. You will hear an electronic beep or see a light signal each time you press a button correctly, providing immediate feedback that the locker is registering your input, and this audible or visual confirmation helps you feel confident that your code entry is proceeding as intended.
The metal construction of the locker may feel cold to the touch initially and may show minor scratches or imperfections that are normal for industrial storage equipment and do not affect security or functionality. You should expect the locking mechanism to emit a distinctive clicking sound when the bolt engages or retracts, and this noise is a normal part of the electronic solenoid operation rather than a sign of mechanical failure or malfunction.
Who should avoid using this locker or take special precautions before storing items inside?
If you have difficulty remembering numerical sequences or have a medical condition affecting memory, you should establish a backup access method such as storing your code with a trusted family member or in a secure written location before relying on this locker as your primary storage solution. Users who live in environments with very high humidity, such as basements prone to dampness or bathrooms with constant steam exposure, should consider placing a silica gel packet inside the locker to absorb moisture and protect both the electronic components and your stored items from water damage.
If you have young children in your home, understand that while this locker provides basic security through its digital lock, the unit's relatively compact size means it can be moved or accessed by determined individuals, so it should not be treated as a substitute for professional safe deposit boxes when storing extremely valuable items or critical documents. Do not store items that require constant temperature control or protection from humidity inside the locker, as the sealed metal enclosure does not regulate internal climate conditions and may accelerate deterioration of sensitive materials.
