How can you spot a genuine imported NOW bottle from a counterfeit or refilled one?
When your NOW Omega-3 Fish Oil 100-count bottle arrives from our import desk in Bangladesh, the very first thing you should examine is whether the outer shrink wrap and tamper-evident seal show any signs of previous opening or resealing, because legitimate USA imports arrive with factory-intact packaging that has never been disturbed or handled by unauthorized parties. Look closely at the bottle cap itself—genuine NOW products feature a specific cap design with consistent threading, and the safety band underneath must sit flush without gaps or loose sections that would indicate someone has unscrewed and resealed the bottle after filling it with cheaper or lower-quality oil.
The label printing on authentic imported packs shows crisp, evenly-spaced text with no blurring, color inconsistencies, or spelling errors, whereas refilled bottles often have labels that appear slightly faded, misaligned, or show signs of being glued over an older label beneath, which you may notice if you gently run your fingernail across the edges. Check the expiration date and batch code printed on the label—these should be stamped or embossed directly onto the label during manufacturing, not handwritten or applied with a separate sticker, and the numbers should match the format style you see on the NOW brand's official materials. Inside the sealed bottle, all 100 capsules must appear identical in color, size, and firmness without any clumping, stickiness, or capsules that appear lighter or darker than others, because variation suggests the bottle was refilled with leftover stock or inferior product from an unknown source.
What is the correct way to take these capsules every day?
You should take one capsule daily with a meal that contains some fat, because consuming your NOW Omega-3 Fish Oil with food that includes natural fats helps your body absorb the oil more effectively than taking it on an empty stomach would allow. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water, and do not crush, chew, or open the capsule, since the gel coating protects the oil inside from degrading and also prevents any aftertaste or digestive discomfort that might occur if the raw oil contacts your mouth or throat directly.
If you are new to fish oil supplements and have never taken them before, you might experience minor digestive changes during your first week or two as your system adjusts to the addition, which is completely normal and not a sign that something is wrong with the product itself. Continue taking your capsule at the same time each day—perhaps with breakfast or lunch—so that you build a consistent routine and never accidentally skip a dose or double up on a day when you forget whether you already took it. If you have any underlying digestive concerns or are currently taking medications, speak with a healthcare provider before beginning, because they can advise you on whether this product suits your individual circumstances.
How long does one 100-capsule bottle typically last at normal daily use?
At the standard recommendation of one capsule per day, your single 100-count bottle will provide you with roughly three months and three weeks of continuous supply before you need to reorder, which makes this size particularly practical for people who want to maintain steady daily use without frequent repurchasing or managing multiple small bottles in their storage space. This timeframe assumes that you take exactly one capsule daily with no missed doses and no extra capsules on any day, so your actual duration may vary slightly depending on your personal consistency and whether you follow the same routine every single day.
Many people find that a three-month supply cycle aligns naturally with their budget cycles and their ability to keep supplements stored properly in a cool, dry location before the expiration date approaches, which means you can order roughly four times per year if you choose to use this product continuously year-round. The 100-capsule quantity represents a balance between having enough supply to last a meaningful period and not buying so much that you worry about storage conditions or shelf life before you finish the bottle.
What should a first-time user expect when they start taking fish oil capsules?
Your body may need a few days to adjust to a new supplement routine, and you might notice mild changes in digestion, such as slight looseness or a feeling of gentle movement in your stomach, which typically resolves within a week as your system grows accustomed to the addition and no action on your part is necessary. Some people report a slight fishy aftertaste or breath when they begin taking fish oil, though taking the capsule with food and ensuring it remains intact rather than chewed can minimize this sensation significantly compared to taking it without a meal.
You should not expect to feel dramatic changes or unusual effects within days, because supplements work gradually over consistent weeks and months of daily use, and any claims of immediate transformation would be misleading. If you experience persistent discomfort, allergic reactions, or concerning symptoms after several days of use, stop taking the product and consult a healthcare professional who can assess whether it is right for your body or whether something else might suit you better instead.
Are there people who should avoid taking these fish oil capsules?
Anyone with a documented shellfish or fish allergy should not take this product without first speaking to a doctor, because fish oil is derived from marine sources and could potentially trigger a reaction in people with serious seafood sensitivities, even though the capsule itself is derived from fish and not shellfish. People who are taking blood-thinning medications or have bleeding disorders must consult their healthcare provider before adding fish oil to their routine, because fish oil has mild natural properties that may interact with certain prescriptions, and your doctor needs to assess whether this is safe for your specific medical situation.
Pregnant or nursing women should speak with their healthcare provider before taking any new supplement, including fish oil capsules, so that they can receive personalized guidance based on their individual health profile and needs during this sensitive time. People with certain medical conditions or those taking multiple medications should always involve their doctor in supplement decisions, because professional medical guidance ensures that what you choose will not conflict with treatments or conditions you already manage.
