How can you spot a genuine CeraVe Baby Healing Ointment from a refilled or relabelled copy?
Authentic imported packs arrive with original factory sealing that shows no signs of tampering or previous opening. The tube itself feels substantial and properly weighted, with crisp lettering and logos that do not blur or fade when you rub them gently. Check the batch code printed on the base—genuine codes follow CeraVe's formatting and link to real production dates, while counterfeit tubes often have smudged or misaligned printing that looks hastily applied.
What is the right way to use this ointment, and how often should your baby need it?
Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin at the areas where your baby experiences dryness or irritation, typically during nappy changes or twice daily as needed. You only require a thin layer each time because the formula is concentrated, so one tube lasts most families several weeks with consistent use. Start with minimal application and adjust based on how your baby's skin responds over the first few days of use.
What should you expect when you first begin using this product?
During the first week, your baby's skin may take a few days to adjust to the ointment's protective barrier effect, and some families notice the affected areas look calmer by day three or four. The texture is thick and creamy, staying on the skin longer than lighter lotions, which is how it creates its protective layer. If any unusual reactions occur, stop use and consult a healthcare provider before continuing.
