How Can You Tell If These Wheels Are Genuine Imported Stock From Furnitex?
When you receive these caster wheels from ShampooBD, the packaging should clearly show Furnitex as the importer, with their contact details and batch information printed on the box or label itself. Counterfeit or refilled wheels often arrive in plain packaging with smudged printing, missing batch codes, or labels that feel loose or recently applied over older text underneath. Run your finger across the printed information on the genuine pack, and you will notice the ink sits firmly embedded in the cardboard rather than sitting loose on the surface where it might peel or smudge with moisture.
The wheels themselves in an authentic Furnitex shipment will have consistent PU material across all five pieces, with uniform color and texture that matches throughout each wheel's diameter and edge. Counterfeit wheels sometimes show color variation between pieces, rougher seams where materials were poorly bonded together, or a waxy coating that feels sticky to the touch rather than the smooth, firm grip you should feel on genuine polyurethane. If the wheels smell of strong chemicals or adhesive when you first open the pack, this signals poor-quality manufacturing or recent reassembly rather than proper imported stock that has been stored correctly.
What Should You Expect During Your First Week Of Using These Replacement Wheels?
Your office chair will feel noticeably easier to move across your floor as soon as you fit these wheels, particularly if your previous wheels were worn, flattened, or squeaking from age and use. The movement will be smoother and more responsive to your weight shifts, meaning you will use less effort to position yourself at your desk or to reach items beside you without the grinding sensation that damaged wheels create. Many people notice immediately that rolling backward and forward no longer produces the sharp squeaks or grinding sounds that worn wheels generate, which comes as a relief in quiet working environments or shared family spaces.
During the first few days, your chair may feel slightly higher or lower than before if your old wheels had compressed significantly over months or years of daily use, but this adjustment period is normal and brief. You might notice the wheels settling slightly as they adapt to your chair's weight distribution and your personal movement patterns, but this does not indicate a fault in the product itself.
How Often Should You Replace These Wheels Based On Your Daily Usage Pattern?
In a household where someone uses the chair for four to five hours daily for desk work, online studies, or administrative tasks, you can reasonably expect these wheels to perform reliably for between eighteen and twenty-four months before the polyurethane material begins to compress noticeably. If your chair sits in a busy office environment where it receives eight or more hours of continuous use every single day with multiple users, the lifespan shortens to approximately twelve to sixteen months as the material experiences greater cumulative pressure and wear. Very light usage in a guest office or occasional craft room might extend the wheels' useful life to two or three years or even longer.
The tell-tale signs that replacement becomes necessary include a gradual increase in rolling resistance where your chair requires more push force than it did previously, a return of squeaking or grinding noises despite the wheels being relatively new, or visible flattening of the wheel surface where contact with the floor has compressed the material unevenly. You do not need to wait for complete failure before changing them, as earlier replacement ensures your chair continues to move smoothly and quietly.
What Is The Correct Procedure For Installing These Five Wheels Onto Your Chair?
Begin by turning your office chair upside down or tilting it on its side so that you can access the stem that protrudes from the chair base where the old wheels attach, making sure you have adequate space to work without the chair rolling or shifting unexpectedly. Grip each old wheel firmly and pull it straight away from the stem with a steady, even motion, twisting slightly if needed to overcome the friction fit that holds it in place, though excessive force should not be necessary. The wheels press onto the stem rather than screw on, so pulling should dislodge them cleanly without damaging the stem itself or leaving residue behind.
Once all five old wheels are removed, inspect the stem to ensure it is clean and free from dirt, dust, or hardened adhesive that might prevent the new wheels from seating properly. Position each new wheel over the stem opening and press it firmly downward with steady pressure until you hear or feel a definitive click that signals the wheel has seated fully on the stem, ensuring all five wheels are pressed equally deep so your chair sits level on the floor without tilting to one side.
Can These Wheels Be Used On Any Chair Model, Or Are There Size And Stem Compatibility Limits?
The sixty-millimeter diameter specification fits most modern office chairs with high levers that were manufactured according to standard international furniture dimensions, particularly those produced within the last eight to ten years. However, some older chairs, specialized ergonomic models, or chairs from certain brands designed with proprietary stem widths or unusual locking mechanisms may have incompatibilities that prevent these wheels from fitting correctly or securely. Before purchasing, examine your chair's existing wheels closely and measure the stem width where the wheels attach, comparing this dimension against the product specifications to confirm compatibility.
If you are uncertain whether your specific chair model accepts sixty-millimeter wheels, you can contact Furnitex directly with your chair's make and model number, and they can advise whether these wheels will integrate properly. Installing incompatible wheels on a chair stem designed for different dimensions risks either wheels that spin loosely and unstably or excessive pressure on the stem that might crack or damage the chair base itself.
How Should You Store Spare Wheels And Maintain Them If You Purchase Multiple Sets?
Store these wheels in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or damp environments where the polyurethane material might harden, become brittle, or absorb moisture that degrades the material's performance characteristics. A sealed plastic container placed in a storage cupboard, garage shelf, or under-desk drawer works well, provided the location remains climate-controlled and protected from temperature fluctuations that cause materials to expand and contract. Avoid storing wheels near windows where sunlight exposure over weeks or months will cause the PU material to yellow, fade, and lose elasticity even before the wheels are installed on a chair.
Do not place heavy objects directly on top of stored wheels, as compression over months will deform the wheel shapes and create flat spots that make the wheels roll unevenly when you eventually install them. Keeping spare sets in your home means you can replace worn wheels immediately without waiting for a new delivery to arrive, maintaining your chair's smooth, quiet operation without interruption to your work or study routine.
