Similac Advance Gold vs NAN Optipro: Brain Development Comparison for Bangladesh
Both Similac Advance Gold and NAN Optipro are premium infant formulas trusted by Bangladesh parents. Both claim to support brain development — but through very different mechanisms. Which actually delivers better brain nutrition? This comparison finds out.
How Each Formula Supports Brain Development
Similac Advance Gold: OptiGRO
- DHA (Omega-3): Brain structure and function
- Lutein: Eye and brain antioxidant — found in breastmilk, rare in formula
- Vitamin E: Antioxidant protection for brain cells
NAN Optipro: Optimised Protein System
- DHA (Omega-3): Brain and eye development
- Optimised whey-to-casein ratio: Mirrors breastmilk for better amino acid delivery to growing brain
- Iron: Critical for neural myelination
The Lutein Difference
Lutein is a carotenoid found naturally in breastmilk at 20-50mcg per 100ml. It accumulates in the macula of the eye and brain tissue. Research suggests it supports visual acuity and may protect developing brain cells from oxidative damage.
Similac Advance Gold contains Lutein (45mcg per 100ml). NAN Optipro does not add Lutein.
