Key Differences

1. Prebiotics

Aptamil contains GOS/FOS prebiotics at 0.8g per 100ml — the same type found in breastmilk. This supports healthy gut microbiome development and softer stools. NAN Optipro standard does not contain added prebiotics (though some NAN Pro variants do).

2. Protein System

NAN Optipro uses a patented protein system that closely mimics breastmilk's whey-to-casein ratio. This makes it highly digestible and supports healthy weight gain.

3. DHA Content

Aptamil contains slightly more DHA per 100ml, which supports brain and eye development.

Which Should You Choose?

• Choose Aptamil if: Your baby has soft stool issues, you want prebiotic support, or you want the closest match to breastmilk oligosaccharides.
• Choose NAN Optipro if: Budget is a consideration, your baby tolerates it well, or a paediatrician specifically recommends it.

Both are excellent, scientifically formulated options. The best formula is one your baby tolerates well and gains healthy weight on. Always consult your paediatrician before changing formula.
